Whilst there are some fantastic recipes in this cookbook, such as the Black Pepper Tofu, overall this cookbook disappoints with recipes requiring lots of ingredients (24 ingredients for one dish) that are often hard to source, such as kecap manis, sumac etc. However, what really disappoints me about this cookbook is that it is a good example of display cookbook - one which looks very pretty and has a nice tactile soft matt finish, but ultimately doesn't deliver much that is above the ordinary. Granted there are a few stunning dishes in this cookbook, such as the black pepper tofu dish mentioned previously, and it is nice that there are recipes catering for those with differing outlooks on vegetarianism, but most require a lot of preparation or steps that very sadly aren't worth the effort.
