This review is from: Interview With The Vampire -- Special Edition [DVD] (DVD)
What i liked most about this movie was that Anne Rice worked on the screenplay. meaning, the most important stuff got left in. and the writer had a say on everything that happened (unlike the terrible "Bram Stokers Dracula" directed by Francis Ford Copolla)
The book "Interview With The Vampire" was excellent. a great read that kept me very gripped. the only things i couldn't imagine sometimes where the surroundings and scenery. this film filled the gap PERFECTLY. the costumes, backgrounds, special effects. all were excellent.
The only things i found wrong with it... maybe tom cruise and brad pitt should've swapped roles. Sounds like a big change but i think Brad might've made a more Lestat-esque Lestat. and i think Tom might've made a more butch Louis. I actually thought (before purchase) that they were that way round. Brad was Lestat and Tom was Louis. I was shocked but it didn't take long to get used to the faces as they both do excellent jobs. Even Kirsten Dunst manages to not screw up her role.
Another thing wrong. is that with all film versions of books. there's always something cut out. which is a shame but cannot be helped.
Near Perfection for this Interview
