This review is from: Panasonic DMR-EX87 - 250gb Hard Drive DVD Recorder - With 1080P Up-Conversion & Freeview - Black (Electronics)
This model is packed with complex technology and compatability features, but doesn't have some of the basics I expected it to. It is not a 'twin tuner' so you can only watch the station you are recording and it also doesn't have a 'series-link' feature which I presumed was standard on freeview recorders these days... Overall, very disappointed...

C. Nation says:
Mr. Branwood, you stand condemned by your own review. The shortcomings you attribute to this device are not in fact shortcomings at all. They are simply attributes of the machine which you could have established very simply with a little research.
"Presuming" that any device has some feature you would like it to have is pretty silly. One glance at the specs on the manufacturer's website, and a trawl through the many write-ups available on other sites, including Amazon, would have told you exactly what this machine would do - and if there was no mention of twin tuners or 'Freeview +' [which is a laundry-list of attributes, including series recording, that a device must have, for the manufacturer to be permitted - by the rights-holder - to use the 'Freeview +' logo] then it is not an attribute of that device.
I think there are things one can presume about products - wellies will keep out water, sandals will not. But electronics are a miasma of options, specs, bells, whistles et al. Making the least presumtion is riding for a fall.
