This review is from: Nailed: Ten Christian Myths That Show Jesus Never Existed At All (Kindle Edition)
First of all let me say that I am NOT a Christian, but, and there is no doubt about this, this book is bonkers! Historically (and ALL serious historians will tell you this) there is more evidence for the existence of Jesus than there is for someone like Julius Caesar. This is just sensationalist pap written for the gullible and ill-informed. Knock religion if you like, but don't murder history ...

Guy Mannering says:
For those of us who are sceptical about your claim that there is more historical evidence for the existence of Jesus than for Julius Caesar, would you care to cite the strictly historical sources for both, (perhaps taking in also the archaeological and numismatic evidence) and which historians support your thesis. Thank you.

Dear R. Millington,
Yes, I would also like you to cite the historical, non-Biblical evidence for Jesus. Please list all the first century documents - not including the Gospels and Epistles - where Jesus is referenced. Also any contemporaneous accounts (remember, not even the Gospels are contemporaneous). Guy, it seems, has been waiting since February for a response. I'm sure he is willing to wait a little longer, as am I.

You just lost any and all credibility.

Dear Mr Millington
Yes, P Madely is right: that is a very silly thing to say. It is a Fundamentalist Christian canard, and you have repeated it, parrot fashion, without investigating. We have contemporaneous records of Julius Caesar. We have images of him. We have documents that he, himself, wrote. This nonsense about there being more evidence for Jesus stems from the fact that we have 5,000 documents from the New Testament. But these are all copies of copies of copies of the same documents. And the vast, VAST majority were produced after 1000AD - a thousand years AFTER Jesus was supposedly alive. Do you know how many documents we have that were written in the 1st century?: Zero! No original copies of Paul's letters or Mark or Matthew. The earliest copy we have of a NT document is a fragment of John dated around 150AD. You really need to do some research before you blurt out nonsense.

P Madley says:
Agreed. He wrote 7 books about the Gallic Wars alone. "Commentaries on the Gallic War" is even used as a standard work for learning Latin.
Remind us again of Jesus' publications...
We also know what Julius Caesar looked like. Jesus? No idea...
