Great Show. Shockingly poor DVD.,
This review is from: Being Human: Complete Series 1 [DVD] (DVD)
I'm already a big fan of the show, but this is a review of the DVD, which is not only poor in terms of its extras, but has also significantly affected the quality of the show...
The soundtrack was incredibly important to my first experience of the show, and the majority of it has been changed or replaced by original score.
I planned to show the DVD to friends but will now suggest they use other means to watch so they can see it with the original songs.
When a DVD's faults actually reduce the emotional impact of the show.. 2 stars is generous...

I have to agree completely with the above review. I love the show but wish they'd managed to keep the original soundtrack for this DVD release - some of the scenes really do lose their impact with the change in score. Such a shame.

Having not had a chance to see the original, I can't comment on the soundtrack. But where's the pilot???

Michael Dobey says:
leaving off the pilot is idiotic, at least you get the first season, this changing the music score scene is dumb.
it's really bad on films like 'return of the living dead' from mgm , so it's not just the bbc that does it. it's just a sham.

They don't change the music on a whim, you know. Music rights can be prohibitively expensive. Would it be better if they got the rights to all the songs and then charged hundreds for the set?
You can get the originals at torrent sites.
