A great book by a great comedian.,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Life and Laughing: My Story (Hardcover)
This book is without a doubt one of the best, if not the best autobiography i've ever read. It was funny, interesting and a real 'page turner!'
You won't be disappointed with it!
I especially liked reading about his teenage years, the best part of the book for me, couldn't stop smiling and giggling.

Alex Callaghan says:
Just because he's not to your taste doesn't make him a bad comedian. Perhaps if you broadened your mind you would see that to others he IS a great comedian to many.

1.4 million people would disagree with you and with only £1 from each DVD sold he would be doing very well for himself.
Not that I am one of them nor can be bothered to watch anything he does, but being as he would be down only £1 I doubt he cares.

A London chap says:
BJ - people are reviewing the book not his stand up DVD. From the print reviews I have read the book is very good regardless of whether you find him humourous on stage.

I do take your point-perhaps he is better to read than to watch. At least one would not have to watch or listen to one of the worst standups I have ever seen. I say again his material is fine, it is just his delivery that irks me and several people I know. My wife actually quite likes him - I am considering divorce even after 41 years of marriage!!

Fred Fripplewipple says:
I suspect you and your friends are in the minority for not liking MM. I don't actually know anyone who dislikes him but judging by the comedians you do like I can fully understand why you would not like MM. Personally I'm not too keen on Lee Mack or Frankie Boyle but there you go - we're all different aren't we.
