Good but for the money you expect more track,
This review is from: LEGO City 7938: Passenger Train (Toy)
I purchased this a few years ago for my son, who has to be said does love the train. This was a Christmas present for him and he still uses it from time to time.
As a one off buy though, it's worth bearing in mind that this is really a train with a few bits of track. To get anywhere near a decent layout you will have to buy a few packs of track to beef it up to something half decent.
+ Usual good quality from Lego, nice detailts and well made
+ Remote works well
+ Enjoyable product, that has had quite a bit of use
+ Has potential as an expanded train set (ie to add more to it)
- Fairly pricey (there are other makers around now who offer better value)
- Long build time (took a bit longer than expected to make, not unusual for lego)
- Supplied track is small and only suitable for a very basic oval layout
- Takes 9 AAA batteries!
It's a good toy, and worthy of 4 stars, but for the money (not much change from £100) I would expect Lego to include a bit more track (at least 50% more than is supplied) By all means check this out, but make sure you pick up a few packs of extra track, otherwise you'll be left with a very simple circle layout that gets boring pretty quickly
