Ah, well cool story in a great setting....,
This review is from: The Stones of Venice (Doctor Who) (Audio CD)
Paul Magrs seems to me to be a writer whose never predictable. His story always surprise me with their fresh ideas and aldo his sense of humour. An audio play that manages to be serious and fun is hard to come across but this is the story that does it for me. Its the kind of story to sit down in the armchair and relax to listen to whilst chomping on a good old slice of cake. Its grown up with Michael Sheard giving his last performance in doctor who. Hes a great actor, sad that hes no longer with us. He did provide some memorable performances along side many aspects of the doc. Paul and Indias first story actually, but third produced. They sound like theyve known each other for years. They are excellent as the doctor and charley.
the other good thing about this story is the setting. well realised and the sound scape is particularly good on this audio. it genuinely feels like you are on a venice street. The romeo and juliet undertone is subtle but good as well. building up to a steady crescendo in the last episode. great stuff
