Centre Stage For Luigi.,

This review is from: Luigi's Mansion (GameCube) (Video Game)
Luigi's Mansion, lets face it looks amazing. The whole mansion is wonderfully created by Nintendo's Secret Magicians. The 'cartoony' style works perfectly, and the character animation is simply astonishing. But its the attention to detail that really makes Luigi, the lighting effects are just mind blowing; the transluscent ghosts, Luigi's trusty torch. Class.
The sound is equally fitting, after only a couple of hours I'm whistling along with Luigi as he explores the dim, creepy mansion. The music itself is typical Nintendo, enchanting and contageous, but with a darker slant.
But, playability is arguably the most important aspect of any video game. And Luigi has it by the Hoover Bag Loads (sorry). Luigi is an absolute dream to play, who would have though vacuuming up gosts could be so much fun - and thats what games should be about Fun. This is easily one of the most playable games in recent years. Its style harkens back to the 1990's 2D platformer, but that aint a bad thing.
There is one little bit of bad news... Longevity. Luigi is short, some say it'll last you about 4 hours, but I (an experienced gamer) would say closer to 6 or 8 hours. And I'd bet you'd go back for some more, anyway (its just so damned FUN). But, if your looking for a good, fun wholesome game, oozing playability and style, Luigi is your man.
