This review is from: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (Extended Edition Box Set) [DVD] (DVD)
As soon as you receive your extended-edition box set from Amazon, I suggest you check that the second disc of Return of the King plays correctly. Mine is labelled "Part 2" but actually contains the German version of the Appendices Part 6 disc. I imagine someone messed up the duplication as others have reported this problem but so far not on Amazon.co.uk.I hope this advice helps prevent the disbelief and disappointment that I have just experienced. POSTSCRIPT: Both Amazon and the UK distributors responded quickly and courteously to solve this for me, so no complaints there. Comments

Just found out my copy has the same problem. I watched the first 2 and a half! back to back and didn't expect to be unable to watch the last disc. Amazon must be aware of this to replace it so quickly. I hope my replacement is as easily sorted.

And so did I. Just that instead of German, the appendice is in English. Hoping that I don;t have any problem either.

I got this on rental from amazon and they sent me the faulty second disc twice - however the third time was correct so if you report the error and keep requesting replacements eventually you should get the right one.

I am from the Czech Republic and I ordered this great DVD collection 2 days ago. I have just received a message that Amazon had dispatched it. Now I am afraid that my copy will be also faulty. Is this problem with wrong disc frequent? If it occured, would it be possible to solve it even from the Czech Republic? I have been looking forward to purchasing it for such a long time, now I am afraid of disappointment.:( It should be delivered on Monday...

Hi there, I've just discovered it on mine too. I have called suppliers and e-mailed New Line Cinema and Entertainment Film distributors directly and am awaiting a response. Will update as soon as I hear anything.

I've got the same problem - DVD collection was bought as a present, not from Amazon, but HMV. Unfortunately I don't have the receipt. I've tried Amazon and they can't help. I've tried Entertainment Film distributors and they won't respond.

Same problem over here, except I didn't buy the full boxset - I only bought Return of The King. I was lucky enough to have bought it only 5 weeks ago from a seller who was very helpful and offered me a full refund because they didn't have anymore in stock and weren't planning to get any more in.
I guess the hunt for a copy that actually works begins here...Anyone know if Amazon are still churning out the faulty ones? Or have they all been taken out of circulation yet?

Well, I am not sure about single edition of the movie, but this extended version box set doesn't seem have the problem anymore, since my copy worked perfectly.
