This review is from: After the Music Stopped: The Financial Crisis, the Response, and the Work Ahead (Hardcover)
This is a very clear account of the causes of the banking crisis in the US. The author avoids 'banker bashing', and sets out the nature of the problems very well. His general conclusion is that the measures taken by the US government and the Federal Reserve did work well, or at least as well as any likely alternative. But he is skeptical about attempts to force banks to hold more capital than they currently have, and points out the costs of this.
All in all, this is a very good book, that explains some complex, but important, issues.
