Brilliant album - listen with fresh ears,
This review is from: Freedom (Audio CD)
Hearing this album, when it was released, is what first got me listening to Neil Young - I thought it was brilliant then, and I still do. I suspect that the big differences you can read in the (surprisingly small number of) reviews on Amazon are due to a large extent on the differing expectations that the reviewers had for the album, based on what Neil Young material they knew and liked/disliked already. I had no expectations, and was well bowled over by it. Accepted, there are some weaker songs, but they aren't very weak, and the good ones are really, really good. Songs like 'Crime in the City', 'Wrecking Ball', 'Someday' deserve a much wider audience. Get a copy and listen!
