Average stone, terrible stem,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Ariel 0.25 Carat J-I2 Single-Stone Diamond Earrings on 9ct yellow gold-0.125 Carat each earring (Jewellery)
The stones are not particularly good quality, but ok for the price paid and appear to be securely set. The main problem is that the stems do not have the usual notches to prevent the butterflies slipping off. The result is that the butterflies do slip down the stem, even if you squeeze them to make them as tight as possible, and have to be pushed back regularly to stop them falling off. I am a bloke, so didn't know about these things until it became obvious whilst my wife was wearing them. Several times my wife has been told by colleagues that her earrings appear loose.
I can't say whether other examples of the same earrings would suffer the same problem and if I had known more about earrings I would have tested them and asked for a replacements that were secure, but I had ordered them well in advance of my wife's birthday and given them as a present by the time I knew about the problem.
I have had to send them to a jeweller to get the stems sorted, otherwise the earrings will inevitably be lost. The cost of the repair added to the price of the earrings makes them less of a good deal. They are OK, but if I had known then what I know now I would not have bought them.
