This review is from: Samsung UE40F6320 40-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p Smart 3D LED Television with Built-In Wi-Fi and Freeview (discontinued by manufacturer) (Electronics)
This TV, like most Samsung TVs, does it job well but make sure that you are buying a model with a BBC iPlayer that works properly. As far as `Catch-up' TV is concerned, a number of models in the Samsung `Smart TV' range are not fit for purpose and Samsung are fully aware that this is so. In such cases, (the UE40F6400 Series, etc., etc.), the pre-installed BBC iPlayer firmware is faulty. The result is a serious and progressive lipsynch problem that makes all the BBC channels unwatchable. Nobody should buy any TV, (or set-top boxes, recorders etc.), unless the iPlayer is BBC certified. You can check out Samsung products at

Amazon Customer says:
Indeed. He is simply having a, largely, irrelevant whinge.
I have the UEF46320 and the smart functions are first rate.

My Samsung 6320 also has serious lip synch issues when using BBC iPlayer. Unwatchable. Planning on getting a refund.

Whatever they say, iPlayer remains unwatchable on my tv. If Samsung (or BBC, whoever, I don't care ) think the current situation does not need remedying then it confirms my view that the tv needs to go back as faulty.

The iplayer help link only goes as far as 2012 models

Now that really is a helpful piece of information - given that the watching programmes on the BBC iplayer would be one of the main uses I would put a smart TV to. I rate Samung products highly, so thanks to this advice I can look at other models with confidence.

Also have a 6320 that definately has a BBC iPlayer sych problem. It gets worse the longer the programme runs. One thing I have found that helps is to pause iPlayer for a few moments and re-start. Samsung tech support was hopeless, it's everyone else's fault but theirs.

Wish I'd picked up on this review before I bought. It's a fantastic TV for live broadcasts, the Winter Olympics being everything I hoped for. BUT the BBC iPlayer is ridiculous. After 20 mins lip synch is so poor it becomes unwatchable. I really shouldn't have to hook up an Apple TV and watch BBC iPlayer through my laptop to do catchup. This is sold as Smart TV, and the BBC iPlayer is the most likely app for most people. Samsung seem to be using the power of the BBC iPlayer when they want to, and then not getting it BBC approved, as if no-one will notice the app most people will use doesn't. This is not acceptable.

you can change the sound settings and that will solve all sound issues, its in advance sound settings and you can change the sync, not to hard if you know how to use the TV.
