PREMIUM PRODUCT FOR BUDGET PRICE,
i took delivery of this bb a couple of days ago, and i have to say I'm quite impressed, having owned both a pearl and bold 9000 before i pretty much knew what to expect. However i was quite surprised with the build quality an overall design which i would go as far to say as being excellent. the new track pad works well and is far better than the tracker ball, setting up the device was easy, the software included allows you to port all your emails, calenders & contacts from a previous blackberry, the software now works with macs and will sync all your itune playlists and ical events. The phone feels comfortable and light in the hand and reminds me of the palm treo 680. Having read previous reviews slating the camera and screen i have to say i think there both pretty adequate, yes its no 12 mega pixel multimedia phone but people buy blackberrys for the there faultless email delivery and now excellent social media apps. All in all if you need email, a browser, social media and occasional multimedia on the go this is a excellent choice, and i personally have no regrets purchasing this phone. well done blackberry in bringing this budget phone to the masses.

Hi J. Mazur, thanks for your write up. I have had a number of BB's previously and my latest one is the 9000, which of course is great, except for the battery, which needs to be charged daily (compared to other models I had previously). Is this 8520 better than the 9000? Could you advise in what way?
They are not in the market where I live (GR) and would have to buy one from Amazon, and so would appreciate any further comments on why it is better than the 9000. Thanks in advance for any advice.

The device is advertised as SIM free and sold by Amazon without any mention of a network. It is fairly clear that this means it is unlocked...
