5.0 out of 5 stars Better than Formula 1 2006!, 22 Mar. 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Formula 1 2009 (PSP) (Video Game)
Sorry, but I do not get the negative publicity for this game. I have been playing it for a while now and I still like everything about it - the circuits are very well rendered, the cars look good and when I started career mode there was a DEFINITE difference between the handling of the 2 cars I was offered to drive (Toro Rosso or a BMW-Sauber). I have seen reviews where this is compared to the 2006 season version, well I can tell you that this is better - I could not play the old version for long because of the way the physics engine was set up - it made me feel motion sick, this does not at all. The cars are responsive and changes you make to setup really do make a difference, as do the number of driver aids you can play with.

I understand that some of the reviewers are upset by the lack of commentary, but to be honest I turn that off anyway - when I am racing, I only want to hear my race engineer (do the drivers listen to the commentary as they are racing - I think not).

Overall I think this is an improvement on past Formula 1 games and a s a long term F1 fan (I'm 41 and been following it since I was 7) I can happily say that this game embodies the spirit and feel of the sport I love. To it's detractors I say one thing - it is on a PSP, don't you think Codemasters have done a good job to squeeze as much as they have into the limitations of a handheld? I gave it 5 Stars for a good reason - this IS a good game.

Good review and totally agree with you. I think this game has been slated far too much. Ive had it since the end of January and cant put it down, the career mode is great, the tracks are all there, the graphics are fine considering this is a PSP and not a console. In fact i was impressed with how much they have squeezed into the game considering its on UMD.
The racing is good, its fast and the handling that a lot of people moan about is simply about getting used to it, after a while, the twitchy handling isnt nearly twitchy enough on some tight circuits! I dont know what people moan about sometimes, this is a mint game and worth every penny.
