This review is from: Taken: Complete Series [DVD] [2003] (DVD)
OK, the story is as far-fetched as the proverbial bucket of sugar from China, and it's astonishingly melodramatic, with the positively angelic Ally on the one hand, and on the other the Crawfords, a family of utter villains so wicked and self-seeking that you find it hard to resist the tendency to boo them every time they appear, just like in a British pantomime. But it's so beautifully done, with such astonishing attention to detail, that it draws you in, in spite of the fact that you know it's a load of codswallop. Horrifyingly, you find yourself WANTING to believe that there's something to it. I watched it first on one of the German channels, and just had to have the English language DVDs.

Teemacs, you regard this series Taken as codswallop but material used in some scenes are based on "fact".
Foo fighters during WW2,Roswell,Betty and Barney Hill etc. Those abducted saying they were experimented on,no different to us humans experimenting on animals.
Some scenes made up but it does leave you wondering what is out there.
Not all "codswallop".

Teemacs says:
Seb, I think alien visitation is as far-fetched as the proverbial bucket of sugar from China and that the alleged abductees are delusional. Any race "out there" with the technological ability to cross the awesome gulf between the stars (something which we are centuries away from achieving, assuming it's even achievable in the first place) would be perfectly capable of observing us without having to crash-land at Roswell.

And i must say the statement you made about abductees being delusional, no not a chance, i can verify that they exist, and old Spielberg himself was given the opportunity to direct a film about the whole alien scenario by the government, who wish to educate the ignorant who still think we are the only intelligent species in this solar system, not a chance there is more life going on in our skies than most people could even dream about, take it from someone who knows

Teemacs says:
So, Mr./Ms. Shannon, if this is so, why don't we all know this for a fact? If it is as obvious as you say, why is it known to only a few?

Taken [DVD]

Teemacs, you say aliens will be more than capable of observing us from afar.
True.
We ourselves can observe th e world through many formats,TV,internet, video,DVD etc etc yet we feel the need to travel to those destinations even when it can be observed from afar.
These aliens are probably as inquisitive as we are.
I certainly disagree when you say abductees are delusional.
Perhaps one day something you witness will be regarded as "delusional".
By the way you have an excellent taste in music.
WACH AUF,WIR SIND NICHT ALLEIN IN RAUM.
