Pocket book of "I'm possible" magic...,
This review is from: 101 Things I Wish I'd Known When I Started Using Hypnosis (Hardcover)
Whether you're a hypnotherapist or just interested in learning more about hypnosis this is one of the most easily digestible and usable books out there.
101 things is an enthusiastic collection of wisdom - which just happens to cover hypnosis - the wisdom contained within these pages is priceless - well worth the cover price 50 times over - especially when you take into account the price of a hypnosis course or seminar - or even the price of seeing a competent therapist...
The book is split into 5 main sections:
Miscellaneous Pearls of Wisdom
And it's a wonderful read - it's as if you're having a conversation with the author - being able to relate to "why that is helpful" and "why you say something in a certain way".
One of the problems of such an easy style of communication is we may tend to overlook how useful it actually is...
Simple is complicated enough - and you don't need very long words to help someone get better...
One word can change someone's life - and certain sentences if acted upon - can have what will seem like a magical effect - just ask anyone who has "chosen" to stop smoking after seeing a hypnotherapist for one session...
Talking of stopping smoking - the 22nd thing in the book is turning the word impossible into a positive suggestion and is very eloquent and clever and brilliant...
This book also reminds me of Duncan McColl's Precision Therapy book because you don't need to "logically" understand a lot of the things in this book - you need the confidence to use the information and see what happens...
Hurtful vs helpful...
When a hurtful idea has been replaced with a helpful one then a long term cure has been initiated...
That is probably the simplest, most useful sentence I have ever come across in regards to helping someone understand the process of "getting better" or therapy or hypnotherapy or whatever you want to call "cure"...
And I have used this book quite regularly - my specialism is helping people "get better" and I seem to be very good at addiction work, weight loss, better relationships and a few other things.
And it's because of the brilliance of people like Dr Ewin sharing their knowledge in such a helpful way.
Don't be fooled by the size of this book in regards to the potency - this is one of those "Don't judge this book by its size or easy to read format".
It is easily one of the most useful books I have been fortunate to come across and own (and I own about a 1000 getting better books) and most importantly - it helps people "get better" - hypnotherapists as healers - the curious by default - and the interested become more interested...
Put your logical head to one side - and just start practicing what Dr Ewin "preaches" and you will be pleasantly surprised at the outcome...
Well worth buying...

This is a very thorough evaluation of the book, thank you. It helps to make an informed decision about whether to buy it or not.
