A Good Collection from an Under-rated British Band,
This review is from: Airport - The Motors Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
This collection contains a total of 17 songs delivered in an unpretentious style full of energy where the essence of the music is successfully captured ( even if some may prefer a more polished 'produced ' sound at times).
Lots of these songs bring back memories of the era .My favourite song is 'Airport' ( which reminds me of waiting in the airport lounge to return home from The Isle Of Man in the summer of 1978 at the end of a great holiday ) but there are several other songs here that aren't too far behind in my affections . These would include ' Forget About You ' , 'Love and Loneliness' and 'Soul Redeemer' . Other excellent songs include ' Dancing The Night Away' , 'Metropolis' , 'Emergency' , 'Tenement Steps' and ' That's What John Said' . There is also a strong live version of 'Cold Love ' whilst the collection concludes with another good song titled ' Here Comes The Hustler' .
This CD is definitely worth checking out .One minor gripe that I do have is the annoying fact that the photograph that appears on the front of the CD has been printed back to front ! Still , thankfully this has absolutely no influence upon the fine music here !
