Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
From the outside, this almost looks a bit unprepossessing. The cover does the contents very few favours. It would be easy to pass this by without a second glance. However if you did, you would be missing a delightful book that most cooks will want to use on a regular basis.
The book is constructed very cleverly - balancing useful tips (in terms of menu planning, preparation and equipment) alongside tasty recipes (often high-lighted with evocative photography)
The focus is on good food fit for celebrations - without having to spend weeks in the kitchen. There is a huge emphasis on seasonal produce - which is ideal for this style of food. If you have perfect, fresh, seasonal ingredients - you don't have to do much to make sensational meals.
I shall certainly be taking this on holiday with me in a few weeks time - it will liven up my repertoire of dishes no end.
Alice Hart is a voice new to me - but I shall be looking out for further titles.
