This review is from: Winter's Bone (Paperback)
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I found myself really involved in Ree's plight, feeling her agony and frustration while trying to do the right thing for her family.
Some of the imagery knocked me off my seat, the book is packed with descriptions so unusual, yet so vivid, that I found myself transported into the harsh Ozark winter in which the book is set.
The fact that Woodrell hails from the Ozarks gives this book a genuine voice reeling you further in with each chapter, paragraph and sentence.
I can't recommend this book enough, an emotional rollercoaster of a read that pulls no punches. I loved it.
