5.0 out of 5 stars The Stories getting better and better?, 10 Jun. 2007
By
This review is from: Doctor Who - Series 3 Vol. 3 [DVD] (DVD)
These three stories are not evolved around monsters so the big Dalek or Cybermen fans including myself may be a little dissapointed, However...

Human Nature and the family of blood is a very good story. It is mainly about the school teacher John Smith who is finding out who he is. He is in fact the Doctor who has stored his time lord self into a watch and turned (Temporarily) into a human to hide from the Family of Blood, hunters who posses a school boy, a little girl, a maid and a male farmer. Meanwhile a schoolboy who is at the school John Smith teaches at, discovers the Watch and opens it. The Family of Blood then attack the school and the fight begins.

This is a moving tale as the Doctor is in love with a woman and he is eventually faced with the decision to either surrender and live a life with the woman he loves or become the Doctor and stop the Family once an for all. My favorite scene is the part when the schoolboy sees what the Doctor has seen in the past.

Blink is about a Woman named Sally Sparrow who must help the Doctor and Martha as they are trapped in 1960 without the Tardis. It is based on a story by Stephen Morfatt who also wrote the episode and is the Writer of my Favorite Doctor Who story The Girl In the Fireplace and also the Empty child and The Doctor Dances. This also introduces the scariest monster yet, the Weeping Angels who are actually assasains with the ability to send people back years before they were born. The spookist feature is that you cannot see them move, they can only move when you Blink or your back is turned. The best scene is when the angels swich off the lights but the lights ficker so you see them move. The Scariest bit is when Sally turns round and is face to face with an angel with the scariest face i have ever seen and she leaves her freind to hold it back and he looks round and when he looks back the Angel is right up close.

A must buy for all fans.
