Trivia.
Richard Benjamin(Jago) appears in this story as Sir Keith Gold.
Caroline John's last story as Liz Shaw( She was married to The Master actor Geoffrey Beevers in Keeper of Traken & Big Finish audios, Sadly Caroline John passed away last year).

Review.
First is this worth getting if you own the original dvd release, "Yes", The picture & sound restoration is of the highest quality & a cast improvement since it's original dvd release.

The additional extras including Dr Forever in which this episode talks about the Big Finish audio range is superb & a enjoyble documentary.

Jon Pertwee first season concludes with this epic classic 7 parter yet nothing feels filler here it moves along at a cracking pace.

The Inferno drilling project headed by Professor Stahlman stumbles upon a crack in the universe core emitting a green slime liquid when touched you slowly transorm & become a rabid primeval creature.

The Doctor is using the Nuclear power from the reactor to try to get the Tardis working.

A freak accident transports the tardis into a parallel dimension were earth is a state run dictatorship, Again the Inferno project is commencing but at a far advanced rate than our earth.

Here the Doctor's friends are his enemy's Brigade Leader instead of Brigadier, The Doctor is captured after a fantastic chase around the complex to be interrogated by the Brigade Leader thjnk the Doctor is a spy.

Both Professor Stahlman & his parallel double are both infected by touching the liquid but Stahlman is in a more advanced stage & eventually transformed.

With time against them The Doctor works out he cannot save this dimesion of earth but can save our earth if he can get the tardis working & get back to earth.

Barry Letts took over directing dutys when original director Douglas Camfield became ill, Yet the difference in direction is seamless.

This is truly a Quatermass type story from Don Houghton whom akso wrote The Mind of Evil another classic Pertwee adventure.

Inferno is a classic Third Doctor story, I cannot find any faults as such it's a pity storys of this quailty aren't made for today's series Mr Moffat you've a lot to learn.
