Interesting but ultimately disappointing.,
This review is from: Prof. Brian Cox's How The Universe Will End (Collins Shorts, Book 1) (Kindle Edition)
First things first, this is VERY short. Even within its meagre 20 pages there is space taken up with repetitions of sentences from the text in large ALL CAPS with one or two pictographic diagrams - not scientifics illustrations, but for example a clock to illustrate time.
I do not know enough about the science to approve or criticise its presentation but I did feel that things were rather skimmed over. I found myself wanting more explanation of the why and how of things. This was disappointingly shallow. I feel I learned more from the DVDs of Prof. Cox than from this, where usually one would expect a book (even just one chapter of it) to be more in depth.
Overall, I would hope that non-tie in books would be more in depth, but if this is supposed to be a loss leader to tempt me to purchase the rest of this particular book, it did not work.
For its length and lack of depth I feel it is rather overpriced at 99p, frankly.
