Brutally honest memoir,
This review is from: My Booky Wook: A Memoir of Sex, Drugs, and Stand-Up (Paperback)
As far as content, this is not light reading, as you would expect. Brand's youth contained some rather brutal times. Worse yet, his behavior towards others and himself were no less than despicable. Having said that, he is contagiously charming, and his British wit and twist of the language make this a very enjoyable read. Ultimately, what makes the memoir work so well is his self-deprecating discovery of his true self that brought him to such fame today.
