This is very strange. The obviously posed grungy look of the band doesn't tie in with the clean sound, rocky-pop tunes and the tight harmonies of the choruses. Then it hits you... this is what Duran Duran would have sounded like if Simon LeBon and John Taylor were 20 years old today. Once you realise how Duranny they sound, it's difficult to get the connection out of your head. On the other hand, this is a rare album with no throwaway songs and plenty of variety, and it can be fairly said that if you like the sound of any one track, you're certain to like them all. I'd rate the album alone 5 stars, but the desperately moody and laughably staged band photos in the booklet make me slightly embarrassed to admit to liking it.
