This review is from: May It Please Your Lordship (Kindle Edition)
This is the story of Toby Potts who is a newly qualified barrister and I heartily recommend this book.
May it Please Your Lordship is a light read and it gave me many a chuckle as I turned the pages. The author gives us some great characters and skillfully takes us on Toby’s journey through his early days at the bar. As we follow his career we meet many interesting and comedic characters. Toby has to deal with, solicitors, chambers politics, strange clients and even stranger and eccentric judges,
When young Toby Potts tell his father he wants to be a barrister his father says that he should get a “proper job.” But Toby is called to the bar and begins his career with high hopes and great expectations.
We follow Toby through his pupillage to his first brief when he represents the wrong client and through many exploits on to The Old Bailey where he represents Father Christmas. Hilarious, will we get a further installment of the Life of Toby Potts? I hope so.
