5.0 out of 5 stars genius... bizarre genius, 9 April 2007
This review is from: Whoops Apocalypse - The Complete Apocalypse [DVD] (DVD)
i'm just about able to remember this from when it was on TV. This is sheer undiluted comic genius and goodness knows why it never made it on to video - let alone DVD. Hallelujah!

So it starts here. A criminally stupid (ok lobotomised) American President led by advisers who think they have a direct line to God make bungled attempts at intervening in Middle Eastern politics. They are aided by a stupid and compliant British Government who want to stay in with their friends across the water. Meanwhile a shadowy international terrorist lurks in the background.... help! help! it's all coming true!

there should be a button here saying 'buy now, do not pass GO!'

comedy genius performed by genius comedians.

D. Bane says:
The original TV series DID make it onto video - I've got a VHS copy on my shelf. The big shame is that this DVD appears to never have made it after all - been waiting since 2007's original release date to try to get a copy, and still nothing. At least I DO have the VHS copy to fall back on!

Stuart Bruce says:
The original one-disc edition of "Whoops Apocalypse" came out ON DVD around 2004. This is the second DVD release, with more features.

As D. Bane said, the original series did come out on VHS, via the Channel 5 label in 1987.

I've also got a copy sitting on a shelf, with the cover signed by actor Ed Bishop, who played newsreader Jay Garrick in the series.
