Two Alternate Versions,
This review is from: The Counsellor [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
I loved the movie and if you don't get it, I'm not here to help ;o)
However, I'd like to point out an interesting issue, here. I have learned that there was also a dummies version of the movie. So, I found a way to get a screening and I have to tell you, it sucked! When everything is laid out for the viewer, the movie no longer continues to be a work of art. Sometimes, people say they didn't get it. Well, why should you get it? I mean, there is Ridley Scott and let's face it: there is you! Go ahead, read a book or two for that matter, give it more time and think about it. Maybe you'll get it next time. Reducing movies to a level immediately understandable by the average schmuck not only shames the work itself, but also eliminates something valuable we would like to aspire to in the end. Less is always more.
Five Stars to the original, none to the other version.

Loved your review; could not agree more. I watched the film, didn't understand some of it - but hey, that goes for life in general.
I suspect this is one of those films that people will regard as a classic in 20 years time.
