A wonderful progressive rock album!,
This review is from: White Clouds (Audio CD)
Oh my goodness, but this is a wonderful progressive rock album. One of those that grabs you from the very first song. This is melodic, fresh and beautifully performed. Excellent songwriting with lyrics that have something to say - this is their first album (released in 2008) and was inspired by the First World War. The musicians are Paul Davis (guitars, vocals, piano, keyboards) and his brother Jack Davis (bass, piano, backing vocals), plus Russell Wilson (drums). Growing up in rural Wiltshire, the Davis brothers were influenced by Pink Floyd, Dream Theater, Marillion, Neal Morse and The Beatles. But although the influences are there, they have not copied too closely, even during the various superb guitar solos. This is a band to watch and I definitely want to hear more from them. Highly recommended.
