Mina at a dead-end,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Sanctum (Kindle Edition)
This book was written after the Garnethill trilogy and before the Paddy Meehan series and, for me it is a relative failure. Mina shines when she's inside the head of a complex, pugnacious but likeable female: the protagonist in this case is a sad specimen of a man...and it's no consolation that his imprisoned wife is even less appealing. It's certainly a page-turner but not pleasurably so. I count the Garnethill and the Meehan trilogies amongst the best books I have read in recent years, I don't think Denise Mina could write a bad book but, in Sanctum, she nearly did.
