This review is from: Buffalo Induction Hob - Power: 3kW.
I bought this for home use because I wanted 3KW power.
I have now used this for several weeks. It is definitely a keeper and excellent value for money. The caveats below are quite minor compared to the 3KW rating that is a big time saver compared to gas, halogen and other electric hob.
Appears very well made.
It does deliver 3KW as claimed to the pan for fast heating.
Knob makes it very easy and fast to control. Much better than pressing up/down buttons. The simplicity of operation is a real pleasure.
Power level is displayed in Watts in increments of 100 Watts from 500W to 3000W.
Supports pans from 12cm to 28cm.
With the right pans, heating is very even.
A complete range of spare parts is available in the UK.
Not so good points:
In my opinion, the fan for cooling the electronics is too noisy for home use. It has only one speed.
The fan continues to run for a while after unit is set to zero output. This protects the electronics but it is quite loud.
The minimum power is 500W. This is a little high for certain operations with small pans. There are times where a lower minimum power would be desirable. At 500W to about 1200W the increment of 100W is a little too coarse for very precise adjustments.
It is physically big. Takes up a lot of counter space. Looks imposing.
I am very tempted ro rate this five stars. If the fan was less loud I would certainly award 5 points. Shop around. These are available very inexpensively.
