Too much space wasted on vagrants,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: A Field Guide to the Birds of the Atlantic Islands: Canary Islands, Madeira, Azores, Cape Verde (Helm Field Guides) (Paperback)
I'm not sure who the target audience was for this book but I suspect that visiting birders who have a good knowledge of European birds may be disappointed. The same limited space is offered to the illustrations of the endemic birds as to all the vagrants from the US, Africa and Europe. The illustrations of the endemics are small and do not include all races and juveniles for several species. The species accounts in the text are more detailed but overall I think this was an opportunity missed.
I took the Collins guide and left this at home as I preferred the illustrations.
