I have been recently introduced to Jack Johnson, and haven't yet heard his other album Brushfire Fairytales - but if this is anything to go buy I shall definately be getting that too.
It is a relaxed, laid back album which is beautifully put together. His vocal tone and his playing are sweet together, sometimes pensive, sometimes optimistic. He seems to have a way of making you feel detached from the every day madness of the world - and I like that.
There is a melancholy to his take on the world, but not a hint of defiance. I guess he'd just like to let people be.
Highlight tracks are a matter of opinion, as most of the tracks are fantastic, but I would go with 'Times Like These', 'Gone', 'Cookie Jar', 'Taylor' and 'Rodeo Clowns'
