This review is from: Elements of Life (Audio CD)I, like many other reviewers for Tiesto, am a Massive fan and i always anticipate Tiestos work. Having read the few reviews that have been put on here before mine i find that they are highly critical of the current no.1 DJ's latest work, Elements of Life.
Indeed, this is nothing like his 'in search of sunrise' collection. But to be honest you can't compare an album in which Tiesto masterly mixes a collaboration of the latest trance music and then try and compare it to an album in which he provides some of his own work.
Having been a fan of the albums 'In my memory' and 'Just Be', i knew just what to expect in Tiestos latest offering. He offers a variation of tunes that delve into areas that he previously has dared not ventured before, just listen to 'Track 9: In The Dark' to understand what i am talking about. Not one of my favorites tunes but another worthy addition to his collection.
The stand out tunes from this album are:
Ten Seconds Before Sunrise: Another great kick start tune that reminds me of previous classics 'Magik Journey' and the haunting 'Forever Today' (One of his best). 'Carpe Noctum' and 'Elements of Life' really unleash Tiestos true capabilities in similar fashion to how 'Traffic' and 'Leathal Industry' did on the 'Just Be' album. But the stand out song on the album is the final one, 'He's a Pirate'. Tiesto my friend, take a bow! This has to be one of the best trance tunes i have heard in a very long time. Truly has to be heard in a super club with top of the range strobe lighting to be fully fully appreciated!
I will be in London when Tiesto comes to Alexandra Palace in April on his Elements of Life tour and i cant wait to hear legendary tunes past and present from the man us trance fans know as 'god'.
A great album overall. Not his best work but never the less it cant be faulted!
