Great for starters,
This review is from: Selected Poems of Simon Armitage (Paperback)
I became interested in Simon Armitage via the Tom McRae album, Just like Blood, so when I searched for a volume of Simon Armitage poetry this is what I found. I have discovered my favourite poet here. I love many of the poems but my favourites are from Book of Matches and The Dead Sea Poems, both of which I now have firmly rooted in my growing poetry collection.
I Say I Say I Say from The Dead Sea Poems is my absolute favourite, no doubt about it. This volume is fantastic for anyone who is curious about Simon Armitage, trust me, it will not be a disappointment when it arrives through the letter box.

Hi, less of a comment and more of a question actually. I have been considering buying some of Armitage's poetry collections because, although I am not so much into poetry myself, I think he is fantastic and reaches me on every level. To start with I want to buy the collection which has the poem "November" in it, as that is my absolute favourite. However I can't seem to find anywhere any info regarding the poems in each collection so I'm not sure which one to buy first. Has Selected Poems got "November" in it? And if not, would you happen to know which one does? Thanks very much :)

November's in Zoom! - Simon's debut collection (which also includes the haunting 'On Miles Platting Station') - not sure if it's in Selected Poems. You'll also find it in many GCSE Anthologies!

It's on page 11 of the Selected Poems.
