This book is a great introduction to Buddhist thought from a more modern day perspective. It effectively translates ancient Buddhist writings into a more meaningful and easy to understand format, making it applicable to a more modern way of life.
It is certainly a book that makes you appreciate your life a lot more. It encouraged me to focus on my thoughts and understand the reasons underlying my behaviour. I did, however, find some of the explanations a little difficult to understand and would maybe require further research.
But ultimately, this book makes you sit up and pay more attention to your life, which can only be a good thing. It is a book that I'm sure I will dip into from time to time too. Having read quite a few Buddhist related books in the past, I really liked the analogies the author uses to get across his points. Adopting a Buddhist mentality can actually benefit your life without you having to don a robe and become a monk.
