A gem of a book.,
This review is from: Geek Tragedy (Kindle Edition)
This book is a real treat for those who enjoy poetry with a dash of realism and some great humour. The subjects covered are those that most people can relate to: giving up smoking, unemployment and Star Wars obsession.
David's poems can be poignant and touching and the next moment make you laugh out loud. There is a wry sense of humour running throughout the book and it reflects someone who has dealt with life's problems and irritations but still comes out of it smiling and laughing at the absurdity of being human in the 21st century.
The book is a great read and one that you will want to go back to and re-read. Many times. Not since John Cooper Clarke has Britain boasted of a contemporary poet whose work will resonate with the populace, but now we've found one.
If David Rudd Mitchell doesn't become the poet laureate, he can proudly be a spokesman for a generation of forty-somethings who have seen life in it's warts and all gory glory but are still laughing, and love Star Wars and James Bond.
Download this fabulous book, I guarantee you'll find much within you will enjoy. Even if you're not a poetry fan, I think you'll love this....
