This review is from: The Road to Gretna (Valiant Hearts Trilogy) (Kindle Edition)Two couples elope to Gretna Green on the same night from the same street - for different reasons. Lord Kilmore - readers who have read A Lord for Miss Larkin will remember him as the villain in that story - is eloping with Henrietta, an heiress. Penny is eloping with Dr Alexander Knox because she must be married before she is twenty one in order to avoid her obnoxious uncle marrying her off to his son.
The route the two couples are taking is obviously the same and their paths keep crossing along. Eventually they join forces and Penny realises that maybe she has picked the wrong man. The characters are well drawn - the selfish and spoilt Henrietta with her small white kitten, Lily; Jason Kilmore who proves more resourceful than readers of the previous book in the trilogy might have expected.
I enjoyed reading this book and it has many amusing moments and some very good dialogue. Even the minor characters are interesting. I would recommend this light hearted Regency romance to anyone who enjoys Georgette Heyer's incomparable Regency novels.
