This review is from: Polti Vaporello 950 Steam Cleaner, White (Kitchen & Home)
Firstly it has been wrongly titled Vaporello. It should be Vaporetto.
5 star for the power. 4 star for the power button being hard on the hands and 1 star for the short power cord. I have given it 4 stars as the power is more imprtant than the cord that you can add an extention to even though you should not have to.
I was initially looking at the comfort as it's design is better and it has onboard storage, long cord and better handle however I did not want to get something with less steam power than the 950 so in the end after reading reviews on both I went for the power over the storage. I do not know why they lowered the power with the comfort as that is a newer machine and would have been a better option storage wise and handle for me. The power cord for the 950 is a ridiculously short length and you will need an extention.
This 950 model comes with a range of tools. I do not know why they only give you one mop head cloth as they are so cheap for them to produce really but they overcharge for replacements as they all do.Some reviews seem to expect too much from these machines and do not take any notice of what the manual and descriptions say which is always that you will need a cloth to wipe up the water afterwards and then they write reviews complaining about something they should have been aware of before purchasing. It is the same with all steamers except for one and that is the sharp 3 in one floor mop. This problem could be improved with better cloths istead of the thin useless ones they all seem to supply (except shark)or making your own more absorbant ones out of microfibre.
I do not like using this model for the floors due to the amount of water left that needs mopping up making your job take twice the time therefore I have also purchased a Shark steam 3 in one specifically for the floors and their mop heads are much better.
The shark does not leave any water on my floors and even though the steam power is not as strong it is great for everyday. Deeper cleans can be done with the Polti once a month.
If you live in a hardwater area you will need to purchase Kalstop to use in the steamer. It is safe and you use it in the water that you are steaming with. Depending on how hard your water is your usage varies.
A big problem is that my hand gets very sore after a while as holding down the steam button is not easy but if you look at it differently it is a good workout for your hands and will strengthen them. In this respect though I think the comfort would be better however many reviews have said that the Vapretto Comfort extention poles are flimsy and bend whereas I find the 950 extention poles to be fine.
The storage bag is huge and is just a waste of space.
I have only used this once because it is a mission to get it out daily and I use the Shark for that instead but I will do another review in the future after more usage.
