The most comprehensive account of the Pilates method that I have come across - and I have ALL the books, being an avid Pilates fanatic for many years.
Coming from a sporting background, I found the other pilates books to ballet-orientated and 'flimsy' for me. I needed something strong that would cater for my athletic ability and to fix a niggling back problem. The theory is great. I am no fool, but this book opened my eyes on posture and alignment I had not encountered before. The section on the "B-Line" for abdominal control is different to all previous theories I have encountered, including physical therapy. A boon to stabilizing the lower back. Packed with formulas and diagrams, this is more a teachers handbook, but great for those wanting to know more about their own bodies. The exercises are clearly described for all levels and the 6 charts at the back of the book assist you in doing a home program. The companion videos for lower back pain and beginners are also great.
My recommendation? Get one and compare, you won't be sorry you did!
