How much can one family endure?,
This review is from: The Yosemite Murders (True Crime) (Mass Market Paperback)
As if it was not enough to hear of poor little Steven Stayner, abducted at the age of seven, held captive for another seven years,(tragically dead in about another seven) by a paedophile who eventually got a shamefully light sentence, we hear of his big brother Cary killing young girls up in the Yosemites... If it was fiction it would never get to be published! the story is made so remarkable because of this. Taken on its own it is just another American weirdo story but the whole picture is as fascinating as it is bizarre. get this book but also buy Mike Echols "I know my first name is Steven". I loved the book and found it very sympathetic to Steven. I do not quite understand the animosity towards Echols from the author. I would be interested if someone would enlighten me. As a reader, it gets in the way of the story.... put your handbags down boys!
