This review is from: Sense of Evil (Hardcover)
No to mention a cracking plot which moves along at a great pace and will keep you guessing. The magic is woven onto the plot with skill and subtlety and we do get to meet Miranda and Bishop at times through the book - though not a great deal, further interesting characters are also introduced.
The murderer is obviously an intelligent and personable individual - all of his victims are attractive, successful and intelligent women, all blonde - or are they? How does he manage to lure them to their deaths? Rafe has no ideas, no clues, no nothing and welcomes the involvement of the FBI. He's not impressed when their involvement turns out to be female, intelligent, beautiful and blonde, her extra 'investigative' powers leave little impression on him. However, as the pace builds and, as the say 'the plot thickens' Rafe and special agent Isabel begin to work together very nicely.
Tightly written with just enough of everything to leave you wanting more. I have to admit I missed Bishop and Miranda and hope they continue to make 'appearances' in further books in this series. Please don't tell me there are not going to be any!
If you haven't read the other's in the series then you are missing two great books - but you don't have to have read them to enjoy this one.
