Mitch has come a helluva long way since I first saw him in Newcastle as a guest of Walter Trout. Now three years on 19 year old Mitch (39 years younger than me) has developed into a guitarist so far ahead of his years you'd think he'd been playing for decades. This, his first album as the Mitch Laddie Trio, is sheer class and truly reflects his skills as an already world class guitarist, and his young tuneful vocals are rapidly maturing. Along with Rhian Wilkinson (bass) and Lee Clifford (sticks) the band has rapidly developed into a 3 man unit with a fantastic live sound. To say Walter has been a massive inspiration and influence to this young man is no exageration (thanks Walter!). Buy this record, and tell everybody else who appreciates high calibre music to get their money out. Great instrumentals, great songs (mostof them penned by Mitch), a great version of James Brown's Papa's Got A Brand New Bag, and a great live track with Walter Trout doing Rock Me Baby. Yeah, great GREAT, Grrrreat!!!!
Also take a look at Scott McKeon, another young guy who knows where he's at.
