Should be compulsory reading for birth professionals and a life-line for women who had a difficult birth,
This review is from: Birth Crisis (Paperback)
This book is what you need if you had a difficult/traumatic birth.
It avoids the platitudes or the sheer incomprehension of partners, family, friends and health workers. It validates your feelings and never desmises or patronizes you.
It's a pity it does not solve your trauma- as it is something you have to do yourself- but makes you realise you are not a crazy/ neurotic/ selfish/ self-pitying ( whatever the negative adjectives you call yourself) slob who should get on with life and, most vital of all, affirms that your feelings and reactions are normal in face of what you went through.
Should be compulsory reading to all health professionals who deal with pregnant, in labour or post partum women. Maybe the would think twice about their actions.
