Can have problems ringing,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: RTX Wireless Phone Jack (Office Product)
This extender does extend your phone signal fine, but it doesn't seem to send the bell line, which is something specific to the british phone system. Most modern phones don't use the bell line, so that is not an issue in general, but older phones like the BT Diverse phones only ring if you have the bell line connected.
You can work round this by installing an ADSL filter after the output of the receiver unit, because in addition to their normal job of filtering out the ADSL signal, ADSL filters also re-create the bell line signal. It's a pain that you have to do this though, and it wasn't documented anywhere on the manufacturers web site.

One might have expected that a traditional corded phone would ring but this work around certainly solves the problem! I suggest retailers selling this include your suggestion on their web sites; starting with Amazon!

Many thanks for this. I have just requested to return the kit to Amazon because of this fault. I should have read the reviews first.

Got the Belkin filter and the phone now rings - excellent!
For what the filter costs I think it should be included with the phone jacks.

Works perfectly. Thank you.
I agree that instructions for this set up requirement should really be included with the phone jack.

Brilliant! I specifically bought this DECT device to install a loud phone ringer in my Mum's bedroom, so that we could rouse her. When I tested it just now the phone ringer didn't work, even after the bright idea of re-installing AA batteries in the phone. A quick search via ASK on the Internet identified your solution! Just tested it now, and it rings fine with a surplus ADSL filter unit from my box of phone parts. Unfortunately though, I bought mine from Maplins for £57, but now I see they were available on Amazon for £35!
