It's good to see new blues artists emerging but for me this guy is nothing special. As someone else commented, his voice sounds as if he's trying too hard to sound like an old blues man. Plus, his songs are very ordinary.
For me, by far the best British blues-oriented artist is James Hunter. I say blues-oriented, because he's more soul/blues than straight blues or blues/rock but he can handle straight blues when he needs to. He has a far more authentic, soulful voice than this guy and writes better songs, with clever, witty lyrics. Plus his albums are recorded in the old-school way. His album "People Gonna Talk" was voted no8 in Rolling Stone Magazine's albums of the year for 2006.
