catchy title, disappointingly thin on content. A bit of an anti American rant.,

This looks like a series of lecture notes hastily cobbled together. It gives the impression that the brief was to shock the unthinking uncritical american undergrad into critically examining their government's policies and track record on the world stage, and maybe it succeeds in the American university. But for the rest of the world, including me, as an examination of the economic and political global order and the rise of neoliberalism, it is not only disappointing, it is positively harmful to the cause of those views that could compete with neoliberalism due to its unbalanced tone.
Although there are seeds of some interesting and provocative thoughts in there, e.g. he notes the severance from possible balancing and learning from historical traditions inherent in US culture, they are not developed. Instead, he outrageously skims over the terrible suffering caused in other systems, which, incidentally, could be equally seen as severed from the possible balancing and learning from historical traditions, whilst throwing stones at the USA. Maybe he's got nothing left to say other than USA and capitalism bad. What I want to know is how is it bad and what can we do about it whilst holding onto our humanity.
