Economic and psychological collapse,
This review is from: Broken Harbour (Hardcover)
In future years, this might be looked on as THE novel chronicling Ireland's early 21st century collapse. This aspect of the novel is superb. Sadly, however, the book is too long. A thorough edit is needed, particularly to slash the interminable conversations which often taken six pages to say what could have been said in six paragraphs.
There's a five star book lurking in here, but the slow pace due to over-length reduces it to three.
