A surprising compendium of earlier Dick's stories,

This review is from: Second Variety (The Collected Stories, Book 2): Vol.2 (The collected stories of Philip K Dick) (Paperback)
This book is a well balanced pack of short stories by one of the greatest sci-fi writers of all time. Probably they aren't the best stories written by Him, but, as Spinrad states in the prologue, they're a good starting point to the classical leit-motifs of Dick: human self-awareness, freedom ... Some will be surprised to see in this 27 stories the basis of many modern movies. Quite remarcably, if we keep in mind that they were written in the 50s... To put it to rest, a must-read to any sci-fi 'aficionado'.
